My fantasy collection is pretty small. And by pretty small, I mean this is, I think, my first fantasy toy? Neato! I wish I liked it more.
I received the Split Peaches Unicorn horn in size medium, which ultimately was probably a good call. I would have been happy enough with the small, but the large would have just been uncomfortable. It’s a beautiful pearlescent white with a slight blue tinge in the right light. I love it. It’s gorgeous.
I just wish it felt better! I’m not really a huge texture-lover, but I thought that with the width of these ridges in the swirl of the horn, I’d be okay. My pelvis quickly informed me that I was mistaken. I have a low pubic bone (which makes things like the Pure Wand fun, but gyno visits not so fun), and I feel like that pretty well limits the toys I enjoy.
I forget sometimes that I don’t always really enjoy thrusting with toys… kind of… at all… Penises are great! Fingers are awesome! But there’s something about toys that just doesn’t work. I can either never quite get the angle right, or it’s too much texture, or I need more lube, or my hips are too low, or a thousand other things, to the point where I’ve just accepted that thrusting with toys isn’t my jam.
Now, rocking? Rocking is a different story. Vibrations change the game. Twisting can be a fun way to spice things up. But the Split Peaches Unicorn Horn is not a rocking toy. It doesn’t vibrate. It is a straight toy, with texture. Twisting it makes me feel like I’m driving a screw into a piece of IKEA furniture. (The VÅGGIS, perhaps? I’m really sorry. I had to.) There’s no curve in it to tempt my g-spot into cooperating, it’s not thin enough to reach my a-spot with any sort of dexterity.
That’s not to say that this isn’t a quality toy. Most of Split Peaches inventory is hand poured body-safe silicone. With the medium size, there’s 8 inches of insertable length, so if you really like some girth, the thickest end clocks in at 2 ¼ inches. For reference, the small is 6 inches of insertable length and 1 ⅝ inches at the thickest end, and the large is 10 inches of insertable length and 2 ⅛” at the thickest end.
Split Peaches toys come in a variety of fun colors too, which is something I’ve become more aware of since I’ve started reviewing. Dildos, especially ones on the realistic end of the spectrum, tend to only come in flesh tones, and I don’t see a ton of things like lime and white marble, rainbow, pastels, or glow in the dark. I know Blush’s new Aria line has some beautiful colors, and I think it’s more common for fantasy toys to have wider ranges of colors, but it’s worth mentioning! I love the metallic blue and purple for the Unicorn Horn. I’m glad I was sent the white, though, because I wouldn’t have ordered it on my own based on pictures. The pearlescence really doesn’t come through, but I promise it’s there, and it sure is pretty.
I think, for me, the key to any fantasy toy is going to be the idea of the toy rather than the toy itself. The idea of getting off with a unicorn horn is a fun one! But in practice, my vag just isn’t that pleased with the realisms of the logistics. But if you need to add a unicorn horn to your collection, or you just really like some new swirly textures in fun colors, the Split Peaches Unicorn Horn is for you.
